2014 Cobras Show True Team Spirit in Weekend Fundraising Drive

Dunblane Secretary14 Dec - 22:10

From brewing cups to packing bags, the Cobras prove teamwork goes far beyond the pitch.

This weekend the 2014 Cobras were in action off the pitch putting in a tremendous fundraising effort over both Saturday and Sunday, showing commitment, energy and plenty of character. On Saturday, the boys spent six hours serving tea, coffee and hot chocolate, alongside a tempting spread of delicious home baking at DHS astro. Not content with simply serving, they even took orders — revealing a few budding baristas and entrepreneurs in the making.

The support from the fans was fantastic, with many people also choosing to back the club by purchasing DSC merchandise. We can’t wait to see it worn pitch side in the weeks ahead. Even when the weather took a turn, spirits stayed high thanks to the positive attitudes and encouragement from everyone who stopped by.

Today, the fundraising continued with a sterling bag-packing effort in Tesco, where the generosity of the local community was on full display. The support went beyond donations, with plenty of encouragement and kind words for the boys, making the experience truly special. More than just a fundraiser, the last two days have provided a brilliant social experience, helping the boys build confidence, teamwork and friendships off the pitch.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Cobras this weekend. It was a massive effort from the boys, and the warmth and kindness shown by the other age groups and the general community made it all the more special.

As a club, we are really keen to support fundraising efforts across all teams, whether the ambition is to take part in an international tournament (or a festival a little closer to home), purchase extra kit, or invest in additional equipment. We encourage anyone planning fundraising activities to get in touch with the committee to see what support we can offer. With so much experience across the age groups, it would be great to share ideas, help each other out and make fundraising a little easier for everyone.
